Consider free parking at EWR airport hotels to lower expenses
Another option for finding affordable EWR parking rates is using a hotel lot. Hotels are eager to accommodate busy travelers and will often offer deals that include free extended stay hotel parking with a one night room booking.
To easily compare nightly rates and see reviews, use an online park, sleep, fly deal site like this one to make it easy on yourself. You'll find a range of popular NJ hotel options like Holiday Inn, Best Western Ramada Plaza and more.
BONUS SAVINGS! If the hotel option works for you, use our Newark Airport parking promo code HELPER5 at checkout to save an additional $5 on your deposit!
This can be trickier than using regular Newark airport off-airport parking lots because hotel parking is going to be tied into a room you have to pay for, but this could be a great option for you if you have a very early flight and you live a good distance from the airport or if your trip is for more than a week.
Long term rates at other lots could be more than the cost of staying overnight at a hotel.
Although you would be paying for a minimum one-night hotel in a relatively pricey area, nearly all of the Newark airport hotels with free parking will let you keep your car there for the entire duration of your trip. So this option can sometimes be cheaper than (or equal to) paying for a few weeks of standard off-airport lot fees and will definitely be more affordable than on-site Newark long term parking.
Another plus with using hotel parking is that the lots are easy to find and generally more secure than standard lots. Nearly all hotels also offer shuttle service to and from the airport with minimal waiting time, but you should check ahead of time to make sure you get checked in and get your car situated with enough time to catch the shuttle.
One thing to keep in mind is that annual or seasonal NJ events that are nearby can contribute to hotels filling up to capacity, so booking early is always advised.

Use an airport shuttle service instead of paying for EWR parking
Airport shuttle companies offer reliable, cost-effective Newark airport transportation. With this alternative, you leave your car at home and let a professional driver take you to and from EWR.
We recommend this Newark airport shuttle service for reliable, comfortable and cost-effective EWR airport transportation.
While these companies usually offer private car service for Newark airport, you’ll get the most value from the shared-ride option, which allows passengers traveling to the same geographic area to save money by riding together.
Booking a reservation online in advance is super easy, and with up-front pricing, there are no surprises. Simply choose your starting address – home, office, hotel, school or other location – and punch in your flight dates and times. Add the number of passengers and bags to see the specific costs for each of your ride options such as sedans, SUVs, and vans.
You can select one way, round-trip or multi-leg options for airport shuttles. Newark is a particularly busy airport so you’ll want to get there well in advance. With the online booking tool, you choose the time you prefer to be picked up.
For your return trip, you also select a time for pickup, and shuttle operators can drop you off wherever you designate. Most vehicles are late models and all drivers have completed intensive background checks and safety training.
And since our preferred partner offers services at more than 90 major airports across the country, it’s convenient to go ahead and book any transportation needs you have at your destination city, too. It’s often significantly less expensive than a taxi and certainly more comfortable than public transportation. In addition, shuttle operators will assist you with your luggage.
Search Groupon for Newark airport parking coupons or current transportation offers
If you are searching for Newark airport parking promo codes or coupons online you might not have much luck with the airport lots or individual lots offering these as they are few and far between.
But what you may find are great prices being offered through local deal sites like this Newark local Groupon list of offers.
Often times if there is not a current deal listed for long term parking at Newark airport, Groupon will also serve up nearby deals or alternative transportation options that may work for you.
You could also try entering a nearby location or expanding your local search area and see if there are any other parking discounts you might be able to take advantage of. Even if you had to take an extra cab ride or shuttle bus, it might be worth the extra effort if you find a great bargain.
Rental car deals might be a better choice over EWR airport parking
If you don’t want to bum a ride off of a friend or family member and traditional airport parking isn’t in the budget, there’s another idea to consider for your next trip out of Newark.
It’s a strategy that works particularly well for those going on an extended trip or live far away from the airport. Wait for it…
Two one-way car rentals.
We like to use this Newark car rental aggregator for a number of reasons: It’s part of the Priceline Group, one of the leading travel companies in the world, so they are able to negotiate great prices; all the name-brand companies are included so it’s easy to compare costs, and online reservations are quick with no credit card required.
Before you dismiss the idea, take a look at how inexpensive an economy vehicle through a budget EWR car rental company can be compared to long-term EWR parking. You won’t be in the vehicle long so you don’t need top-of-the-line model, just something cheap that will safely get you from the car rental company in your hometown to EWR (where you’ll drop it off before departing for your destination). When you get back to town, simply reverse the process.
Try it out and see if you can save by renting a car in lieu of parking at EWR.
